can I just leave an employee on the payroll and she is inactive until next year or over the Christmas holidays? I don't want to terminate her, just make her inactive

  We strongly recommend you terminate the employee and issue a Record of Employment. Terminating an employee will not delete their data from your profile - you can always rehire them later if needed.
